Foundation of Variant GmbH by Konrad Jacob

1971
The works group for refrigeration technology of Linde AG becomes the majority shareholder in Variant GmbH, thus complementing its range of shop fittings

1975
Variant GmbH is 100% owned by Linde AG and is integrated into the works group for refrigeration technology

1988
Relocation of the plant to an industrial estate at Konrad-Zuse-Strasse 2 in Bad Hersfeld

1991
Expansion of plant
The new plant site extends over 40,700 m2, and the new premises measures 14,500 m2 and includes new administrative offices and a warehouse

2001
After the restructuring and merging of the sales and production departments, the shop fitting division becomes a separate profit centre of Linde Kältetechnik GmbH & Co. KG

2004
Linde Kältetechnik GmbH & Co. KG without the shop fitting division is sold to UTC/Carrier.
In August 2004, Linde Ladenbau GmbH & Co. KG is established as a separate company within the Linde AG Group.
200 employees are engaged at the company headquarters in Bad Hersfeld; sales offices in Hanover and Karlsruhe and sales agencies in Berlin, Hamburg, Bochum and Munich. Processed steel 10,000 t/year Sales
€ 40 million, of which 30% in Europe excluding Germany
